The PROVISION OF ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT, CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING (EPCIC) OF KASAWARI GAS DEVELOPMENT PROJECT was opened to list the laboratory testing apparatus required in Laboratory building to ensure the analytical requirements for Natural Gas, Condensate and effluent samples applicable to Kasawari Central Processing Platform are fully met. Benua Sains Sdn Bhd(BSSB) has participated in the tender and was shortlisted as one of the vendors for this project and was eventually awarded this tender on 10th September 2021.
The job scope involved supplying over 100 items consisting of laboratory equipment, glassware and chemicals and gases to be supplied to the OFFSHORE LAB. In addition, BSSB was tasked to provide a service column and also gas barn and manifold for the project as additional requirements.
BSSB has conducted multiple site visits to MMHE in Johor to understand the layout of the unfinished laboratory site and take measurements for the gas barn and service column.
First site visit
We have maintained constant communication with MMHE with regards to design, fabrication and manufacturing of the gas barn and service column as well as the delivery schedule of the laboratory equipment in the form of progress report, progress meetings and email communication.
Delivery of Equipment, Chemicals and Glassware.
We have partially delivered goods to MMHE in 5 batches. The process involves collection of goods from BSSB, a notice for inspection to be given to MMHE for the goods to be inspected. Once the goods have been inspected and deemed complete, an inspection release note will be given out to confirm delivery of the goods.
Delivery of Gas Barn/Gas Manifold
An original design was proposed and submitted by BSSB and was accepted by MMHE. A drawing was then provided for approval by MMHE before manufacturing could begin. The gas barn and gas manifold system consist of welding of the gas barn, construction of the gas manifold and painting of the gas barn which took place over a span of 35 weeks.
Delivery of Service Column
Due to space issues, BSSB had to rework their original design from a vertical plane to a horizontal plane for the service column. A drawing was also submitted to the approved and confirmed by MMHE before manufacturing could take place. Service column is still being manufactured and reworked before delivery to MMHE.
